Fundraising Honor Roll

How many people do we know who have been diagnosed with cancer? For me it is more than I first thought. I have 3 brothers and a sister. Two of my three brothers have been treated for cancer this year.  A lady who is in our small group at church and who my daughter teaches with has recently finished very agressive treatments. The man who asked me to be a deacon at our church died several years ago from a particularly agressive type of brain cancer. A man who was very supportive of our ministry in Haiti, Tom Gerber, recently died less than three months after being diagnosed with the same type of tumor. The man I ride bike with when I can, Mark Waldrop, recently was successfully treated for prostate cancer. I am riding in LAGBRAI memory of Tom, who was an avid biker himself, and in honor of Mark, who I hope to be able to keep up with one day soon. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Find below words well written by the directors of the ride, and thank you for your support. I intend to blow my fundraising goal away, help me won't you? 160 total miles on 62 year old legs, ought to be worth something.

Please help me reach my fundraising goal!

On Saturday & Sunday, October 13 & 14, 2018 I will be participating in the LAGBRAI (Lags Annual Great Bike Ride Across I-4) 2-Day Distance Ride.  I need your help!

Riding the Cure on Wheels is a way to channel physical, mental and emotional energy into something much greater than the athletic accomplishment that is gained by riding. Cure on Wheels cyclists use their strength to help those who cannot. With each mile pedaled, Cure on Wheels provides valuable patient services and brings researchers closer to finding cures for various types of cancer that affect millions of people each year.

Cure on Wheels cyclists are a family, a unified force working toward a common goal. The personal success achieved by riding the Cure on Wheels and raising money for benefactors is consistently described as unbeatable.
